As a teacher, the ways of inspiring others are endless!

1

Educational Games

It's important to make learning fun. Integrate things that are of interest to your students. An example of this can be educational games which are designed for the purpose of education of diverse concepts and to develop problem solving skills.

2

Writing Workshops

Writers need to learn to use the writing process: pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. To do so they need the opportunity to write freely, this is where the writing workshops come in. On the other hand, readers also need opportunities to consolidate skills so they can use skills and strategies automatically within fluid, engaged reading. During the writing workshops students proofread or read the published works, thus developing their skills.

Teaching for Life

Teach about processing information intellectually and emotionally by applying problem-solving knowledge to situations and helping students know when to collaborate or work independently.  This will help us shape the future. We cannot center our lessons around only books, we must use the students as the center of the lesson, their realities and daily life situations are key in our teaching process.

Throughout this Blog I will be sharing my experiences as an ESL teacher in Puerto Rico. Read along and be part of my journey!
